Recognition A–Z / Regional and international comparisons

International leadership recognition

International recognition should explain why evidence from different settings can be considered together. Seniority and public visibility are insufficient comparison rules.

What to review

Review geographic scope, leadership responsibilities and the basis for evaluating different mandates. Check whether the outcome is a cohort or an ordered ranking.

A practical example

A country manager and a global chief executive may lead different scopes of work. A credible assessment needs criteria appropriate to those differences.

Keep the claim in scope

The word international does not establish universal coverage or prove that all eligible leaders were assessed.

Research and editorial context

Geographic labels need defined boundaries. Check the actual included countries, entities and populations before extending a result to a region. These notes do not assert local WCRC offices, announce regional winners or create country-specific programmes.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
