Recognition A–Z / Workplace

Workplace recognition and employee evidence

Workplace recognition should explain whose experience was assessed and how evidence was collected. A policy inventory and employee experience answer different questions.

What to review

Check employee coverage, location, employment arrangements and the role of management-supplied information. Read the applicable methodology before interpreting a result.

A practical example

A head-office survey cannot automatically describe staff at every site. The coverage needs to match the scope of the public claim.

Keep the claim in scope

Do not infer a global best-employer result from evidence covering a limited workplace population.

Research and editorial context

Workplace evidence should identify the employee population and the arrangements being considered. Policies, participation and lived experience are different inputs. These notes explain management questions; they do not constitute legal or clinical advice or create a new employer accreditation.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
