Pfizer

Pfizer is a US pharmaceutical company, founded in 1849 and headquartered at The Spiral in Hudson Yards, New York City. In 2025 it reported revenue of US$62.6bn, 59% of it from the United States, and net income of US$7.8bn, and in August 2026 it raised its 2026 revenue guidance to US$60.5bn to US$62.5bn while adding US$2.5bn of further cost savings. In November 2025 it acquired obesity-drug developer Metsera in a deal that could exceed US$10bn, and in October 2025 it agreed to lower US prices in exchange for a three-year tariff exemption, pledging US$70bn of US investment. WCRC's research found its greatest strengths in household-name recall, its innovation pipeline and its regulatory-grade product quality.

What WCRC found

  1. Household-name recall, cemented by its role in developing a COVID-19 vaccine.

  2. Innovation pipeline strengthened by the Metsera obesity-drug acquisition, potentially worth over US$10bn.

  3. Reliable global manufacturing, backed by a US$70bn US investment pledge.

What holds it back: Post-COVID revenue erosion and looming patent expiries have forced successive rounds of cost cuts and weakened sentiment towards the brand.
