Recognition A–Z / Awards and recognition

Award eligibility and qualification

Eligibility determines who may be assessed. Qualification depends on the assessment itself. Meeting the entry conditions does not establish that a participant meets the recognition benchmark.

What to review

Read the entry rules and then locate the separate decision criteria. Identify any required evidence and the route for resolving missing information.

A practical example

A firm may meet a programme's geographic and operating-history conditions but lack evidence for the category being evaluated. Its eligibility remains different from its eventual result.

Keep the claim in scope

Avoid phrases suggesting that submitting a form, joining an event or buying a service secures an award.

Research and editorial context

An award claim needs the programme name, assessed entity, category and edition. Read the recognition process with the result. WCRC separates research qualification from optional commercial participation; communications and attendance cannot create or alter a research outcome.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
