WCRC analysis
Tata Consultancy Services is fourth overall in WCRC 1000 2026. Infosys is seventh, HCL Technologies fifteenth, Wipro thirty-second and Tech Mahindra sixtieth. These five names form the selected comparison used in this briefing. The selection is stated explicitly so that readers do not mistake it for a complete sector universe or a separate published WCRC IT-services award.
TCS has a ranking value of ₹1,129,568.575 crore, against ₹635,171.345 crore for Infosys. The five values total ₹2,594,593.75 crore, approximately ₹25.95 lakh crore. TCS represents 43.54% of this selected total. That percentage is a calculation within the five-name group; it is not a share of industry revenue, employment, exports or the whole IT sector’s listed market value.
The measurement window is 1 July–31 December 2025. The historical date matters particularly when the briefing is read alongside later commentary on technology budgets or AI. A 2026 discussion of those subjects cannot be used retrospectively to explain these market-capitalisation values without further evidence. No causal claim about AI adoption, productivity or employment is established by this table.
WCRC’s analytical view is that rankings become more useful when their measurement is kept close to their interpretation. The table describes relative equity market scale under the published rules. It does not rank delivery capability, customer satisfaction or consulting quality. A buyer choosing a technology partner would need evidence about the service being procured, relevant experience and delivery terms. None of those judgements can be replaced by overall market-capitalisation position.
The selected companies’ public data contains exchange averages and a ranking value. For these companies, the published method uses the arithmetic mean of the NSE and BSE averages. The table retains the precision of the full company records; it does not substitute a compact display value or add the exchanges together. The inaugural edition remains pre-assurance and should be cited that way wherever the figures are reused.
The proposed reporting angle is a transparent comparison of scale and measurement, with room for a journalist to add company responses and contemporary operating evidence. A newsroom could test whether revenue mix, geographic exposure or client concentration helps explain differences in market scale. Those would be questions for further reporting, not conclusions supplied by this dataset. The accompanying pack gives editors direct links to the records so they can inspect the inputs before deciding whether the comparison merits coverage.
Evidence boundaries
The selected five-company cohort is not the full IT-services sector. Values refer to July–December 2025, not current prices. Cohort shares are descriptive arithmetic. No new interviews, audited findings, forecasts or claims about AI-related performance are included.
