WCRC Researched Brand · World's Most Powerful Brands 2026 · Second Global Mega Edition
Budweiser
Budweiser is the American lager introduced in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1876 and now the flagship of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer, headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. The brand is sold in more than 80 countries and marks its 150th year in 2026. AB InBev reported revenue of US$59.77bn in 2024; Budweiser's revenue is not disclosed separately. The brand is the fourth-leading beer brand in China. WCRC's research found Budweiser strongest in recall and identity. Its 'King of Beers' heritage positioning is clear, its red label, bowtie and Clydesdales are instantly recognisable, and decades of Super Bowl and sports sponsorship, backed by heavy advertising, keep it in view, with global availability through AB InBev's distribution.

What WCRC found
High global recall, with sales in more than 80 countries and 150 years of heritage.
A distinctive identity built on the red label, bowtie and Clydesdales.
Heavy marketing investment and a long record of Super Bowl and sports sponsorship.
What holds it back: Damage from the Bud Light boycott that began in 2023 still lingers across the parent's US portfolio, and brand momentum has weakened.
