Recognition A–Z / Awards and recognition

Award corrections and appeals

A correction addresses an inaccurate record; an appeal requests review under a programme's stated process. The routes may differ and should not be assumed to be interchangeable.

What to review

Identify the affected entry and submit the supporting evidence through the published route. Ask which process applies and how an outcome will be recorded.

A practical example

A misspelled company name may require a record correction. A disagreement about assessment evidence may need a different review, depending on the programme's rules.

Keep the claim in scope

Do not promise an appeal right or result that the programme has not established. Keep the original edition identifiable after a correction.

Research and editorial context

An award claim needs the programme name, assessed entity, category and edition. Read the recognition process with the result. WCRC separates research qualification from optional commercial participation; communications and attendance cannot create or alter a research outcome.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
