Recognition A–Z / Brands

Brand service recovery

Service recovery concerns how an organisation responds when a customer experience fails. A useful policy must be understandable and workable at the point of need.

What to review

Check how customers obtain help, who can resolve the problem and what the customer is told while it remains open.

A practical example

A clear complaint route loses practical value if the frontline team cannot authorise a remedy or explain the next step.

Keep the claim in scope

A recovery policy's existence does not establish its effectiveness. Review actual handling and appropriate outcome evidence.

Research and editorial context

Brand measures answer different customer and business questions. Keep the brand, market and period visible when interpreting a result. These notes provide analytical distinctions; they do not announce a new brand ranking, monetary valuation or verified customer score.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
