Prada

Prada is an Italian luxury house founded in Milan in 1913 and part of Prada S.p.A., which is listed in Hong Kong. The group reported revenue of €5.431bn in FY2024 and €3.048bn in the first half of 2026, while the Prada brand recorded €2.414bn of retail sales in the first nine months of 2026. It operates 609 boutiques and in December 2025 completed the €1.25bn acquisition of Versace. WCRC's research found the brand strongest in the clarity of its intellectual, avant-garde luxury positioning, a consistent cerebral personality shaped by Miuccia Prada's design language, a distinctive visual identity anchored by the triangle logo and Re-Nylon, and the craft quality of its products and stores.

What WCRC found

  1. Clear intellectual, avant-garde luxury positioning, carried consistently since the house was founded in Milan in 1913.

  2. Highly recognisable visual identity, from the triangle logo to the Re-Nylon line.

  3. Craft product quality and luxury packaging and store design across 609 boutiques.

What holds it back: Social responsibility is the weak spot: the 2025 Kolhapuri sandal row led to a Bombay High Court petition seeking an apology and compensation for Indian artisans.
