Reliance

Reliance is the brand of Reliance Industries Limited, India's largest company, with businesses spanning oil-to-chemicals, oil and gas, retail, digital services, media and new energy. For FY2025-26 it reported consolidated revenue of Rs11.76 lakh crore, up 9.8%, EBITDA of Rs2.08 lakh crore and a record net profit. Reliance Retail alone reported gross revenue of Rs3.70 lakh crore, with 387 million registered customers and 20,160 stores. Its Jio telecoms business is treated as a separate brand. WCRC's research found Reliance strongest in its competitive financial position, in the credibility of its moves from refining into retail, digital and new energy, in the breadth and logic of its portfolio, and in the loyalty of a very large retail customer base.

What WCRC found

  1. A leading financial position, with FY2025-26 consolidated revenue of Rs11.76 lakh crore and EBITDA of Rs2.08 lakh crore.

  2. Credible brand extension from refining into retail, digital and new energy.

  3. A large, loyal retail base: 387 million registered customers and 20,160 stores.

What holds it back: Its core remains fossil-heavy refining, and WCRC could not verify a firm net-zero pathway, which holds back its environmental standing.
