Recognition A–Z / Awards and recognition

Award fees and optional services

A fee describes a commercial arrangement, not evidence of merit. Before agreeing to any service, distinguish assessment administration, attendance and optional communications where those are actually offered.

What to review

Request an itemised scope, applicable terms and the status of any recognition decision. Clarify what happens if an applicant does not qualify, without assuming a programme's refund policy.

A practical example

A quote for photography and event seats does not establish that the recipient has met research criteria. The assessment record needs to stand on its own.

Keep the claim in scope

No generic fee or price is stated here. Terms differ, and payment must not be described as a route to WCRC qualification.

Research and editorial context

An award claim needs the programme name, assessed entity, category and edition. Read the recognition process with the result. WCRC separates research qualification from optional commercial participation; communications and attendance cannot create or alter a research outcome.

Examples illustrate a decision and do not describe a named organisation's conduct. This is a reference note, not a new research finding or an award outcome.
