LEGO tops Europe's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026

Hermès and Ferrari complete the podium in WCRC's first ranking of brands of core European origin.

By Abhimanyu Ghosh, Chairman, WCRC

LEGO is Europe's most powerful brand of 2026. The Danish toy maker leads WCRC's first Europe's Most Powerful 100 Brands ranking with a Power Score of 86.04, ahead of Hermès (83.38) and Ferrari (81.33). The ranking covers only brands of core European origin: brands founded in Europe whose owners are still headquartered and controlled in Europe today.

Why LEGO leads

LEGO grew revenue 12 percent to DKK 83.5 billion in 2025, a record year, and it ranks #2 in WCRC's World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026. It is still controlled by the Kirk Kristiansen family, which has owned it since it was founded in Billund in 1932.

Luxury and craft lead the way

Luxury and fashion is the largest group in the ranking with 17 brands, followed by food and beverage with 17 and automotive with 13. Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Chanel all sit in the top 10, as do two brands built on speed, Ferrari and Red Bull, and Spain's Real Madrid, the only sports club in the top 10.

France and Germany dominate

France has the most brands in the ranking with 25, followed by Germany with 18, Italy with 12, Switzerland with 9 and the United Kingdom with 9. In total, 13 countries are represented. 30 of the 100 brands also appear in WCRC's World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026.

Who was left out, and why

Some famous brands with European roots are not in the ranking because they are no longer European-controlled, including Ray-Ban, Dove, Volvo Cars, Jaguar Land Rover and Booking.com. Others, such as Aldi, Rolex and Haribo, do not publish their financial results. The full list is in the methodology.

How the ranking works

Every brand is scored on the WCRC Power Score, the same 50-parameter, five-pillar model used for the World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026. Brands already in the global ranking keep their global score. Revenue figures on each brand page are taken from the companies' own published results, with a link to the source.

Disclaimer. Only brands whose owners publish financial results were considered for this research. Brands that do not publish their financials have not been assessed or ranked.
