How WCRC works

From a defined research question to comparative standing, earned recognition and reputation.

    Research creates the evidence

Every study starts with a question and a defined universe. Eligibility, geography, unit of assessment and measurement period determine what can be compared. The edition's methodology should explain the source material and the role of primary and secondary evidence.

    Intelligence interprets the evidence

Intelligence puts findings in context. It examines the sector, peers and limits of the evidence. It must distinguish a measured result from an editorial interpretation, a forecast or an illustrative simulation.

Rankings and benchmarking show comparative standing

A position has meaning within the stated population and method. Edition dates, eligibility rules and calculation notes belong with the ranking. A company can be assessed differently in a brand study, a workplace study and an enterprise-value ranking because the unit and question differ.

    Recognition identifies excellence

Qualification follows evaluation against the programme's stated criteria. A recognition programme and a numerical ranking should identify their respective evaluation rules. Commercial participation never determines the outcome.

    Reputation amplifies earned achievement

Editorial coverage, interviews, event media and licensed recognition materials communicate the achievement. The underlying edition, category and qualification must remain clear in that communication.
