WCRC Researched Brand · World's Most Powerful Brands 2026 · Second Global Mega Edition
Sky
Sky is a British pay-TV, broadband and mobile brand owned by Comcast Corporation, operating mainly in the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany. It runs Sky News and Sky Sports, holds Premier League rights and delivers content through the NOW and Sky Go streaming services, as well as its own Sky Glass TVs. Its parent Comcast reported 2025 revenue of US$123.7bn and net income of US$20.0bn, and in June 2026 announced plans to spin off NBCUniversal and Sky. WCRC's research found the brand strongest in recall as a household name in its core markets, in credible extensions into broadband, mobile and TVs, and in award-winning programming delivered through streaming at scale.

What WCRC found
Household name and the default pay-TV choice in the UK and Italy.
Credible extensions beyond TV into broadband, mobile and Sky Glass televisions.
Quality programming recognised with BAFTA and RTS awards, delivered at scale through NOW and Sky Go.
What holds it back: Pay-TV goodwill is under pressure from streaming competition, and Comcast's planned spin-off of NBCUniversal and Sky adds uncertainty about its future ownership.
