Five9 announced on 5 November that it had agreed to acquire Level AI in a cash transaction valued at approximately $325 million. The companies have worked together since 2022, and Level AI applications were already available through Five9’s marketplace, according to the announcement. Five9 expects closing in 2026 subject to conditions. The announcement records an agreement and a timetable, with closing still ahead. Five9 acquisition announcement
For a customer using a contact centre, the practical test begins at the point where the system cannot handle the request. Consider a caller disputing a duplicate charge. If an automated system transfers the call, the customer should know that the transfer is happening and what the next person can see. The agent needs enough case history to resume the work. Repeating identity checks may be appropriate for security, while asking the caller to reconstruct the entire conversation costs time and may lose relevant details.
Measure what happens after the transfer
WCRC’s Consumer Trust & Sentiment pillar suggests evaluating the whole customer journey, including the difficult calls. A contact centre could measure how many customers who ask for human help reach the appropriate team, how often transferred cases are resolved, and whether people call back about the same issue. Include customers who abandon the queue so that a short average handle time does not hide an unresolved case. Powerful Brands, Consumer Trust & Sentiment
The handoff also has a privacy boundary. An agent may need a concise account of the problem and the steps already tried. They may have no reason to see other details the customer volunteered earlier. A trial can compare different ways of passing context and have staff check whether summaries are both accurate and limited to what they need.
Five9’s release explains the transaction and its plans for product integration. It provides no comparative resolution data after the proposed deal. Start with the calls where a bad answer sends the customer back through the system. That is where the quality of a handoff is easiest to observe.
