How the Power Score adds up
Each pillar's score multiplied by its WCRC weight. The segments sum to 74.56.
Accenture is powerful because when a large organisation decides to reinvent itself with technology, Accenture is the first name on the list. Top-of-Mind Awareness scores 86 and Positioning Clarity & Coherence 86 in the WCRC World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026: born as Andersen Consulting in 1989 and renamed in 2001, Accenture has made itself the default transformation partner for companies and governments, now with AI at the centre. Content Quality & Thought Leadership scores 88, because its research and points of view shape how boardrooms talk about technology.
The second driver is sheer scale and financial strength. Accenture is the largest IT services firm by revenue, with about 814,000 people in 120 countries. In fiscal 2026, to 31 August, revenue rose 6% to US$74.18bn, net income was US$8.37bn, new bookings hit a record US$84.5bn and free cash flow reached US$11.6bn, of which US$11.5bn went back to shareholders. Financial Stability Indicator scores 90, its highest parameter, supported by a Moody's Aa3 rating. It is using that cash to buy AI capability: UK AI company Faculty for about US$1bn in January 2026 and Ookla, owner of Speedtest and Downdetector, for US$1.2bn in March.
The tension is that AI is both opportunity and threat. Investors fear AI will shrink traditional consulting work, and the share price fell about 4% over the year. Accenture's own response, exiting staff who cannot be reskilled for AI and rolling back diversity targets, pulled Employee Wellbeing, Equity & Employer Brand down to 58. In October 2026 the FBI removed an Accenture contractor after a missed patch was linked to a breach of FBI employee data, and Sustainability, Governance & ESG sits at 66.6.
Why Accenture ranks #71
Accenture's three strongest WCRC parameters show a firm whose balance sheet, name recognition and ideas reinforce one another in a market being reshaped by AI.

Top-of-Mind Awareness (TOMA): Accenture is the default name in IT services and consulting, the largest firm in its field by revenue.

The Achilles' heel
3.06Packaging & Sensory Brand Experience50
Packaging & Sensory Brand Experience scores 50, Accenture's lowest parameter, because a consulting firm has no physical product to package. Among the parameters that matter more to its business, the real concern is Employee Wellbeing, Equity & Employer Brand, at 58, after Accenture began exiting staff who cannot be reskilled for AI and rolled back diversity goals in 2025.
What would move it: A visible, funded reskilling commitment for its 814,000 people would protect the employer brand that a people business depends on, and give clients a reason to believe its AI story.
The 2026 story
Accenture closed fiscal 2026 on 31 August with revenue of US$74.18bn, up 6% in US dollars and 5% in local currency, and record new bookings of US$84.5bn. Its operating margin was 15.4%, earnings per share rose 12%, and it guided to growth of 3% to 6% in local currency for fiscal 2027.
It bought its way deeper into AI and data. Accenture agreed to acquire UK AI firm Faculty for about US$1bn in January 2026 and Ookla, the company behind Speedtest and Downdetector, from Ziff Davis for US$1.2bn in March. The restructuring that began in September 2025 continued, with staff who cannot be reskilled for AI being let go.
October brought an unwelcome headline. The FBI removed an Accenture contractor after a missed Oracle PeopleSoft patch was linked to the ShinyHunters breach that exposed FBI employee data. With investors already worried about AI's effect on consulting, the episode tests a brand built on trusted delivery.
