#3 Google
Google is ranked #3 in the WCRC World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026, with a WCRC Power Score of 84.82. It is the second-highest technology brand after Apple, powered by near-universal recall, the world's most visited website and Gemini, an AI assistant used by 950 million people a month.
Five WCRC pillars, 50 parameters, each scored 0 to 100 against global sector peers. The pillar weights set how much each one counts toward the Power Score.

How the Power Score adds up
Each pillar's score multiplied by its WCRC weight. The segments sum to 84.82.
Google's power starts with a habit. For most of the world, searching for something means using Google, and the name itself has become the verb. That habit gives Google a Brand Positioning & Recall score of 91.6, its highest pillar, with near-perfect results for Unaided Brand Recall (98) and Top-of-Mind Awareness (97). The four-colour wordmark and the 'G' are among the most recognised marks anywhere, and the brand stretches credibly across Search, YouTube, Android, Chrome, Maps, Workspace, Cloud, Pixel and Gemini.
The second driver is delivery at a scale no rival matches. Google scores 91.0 on Digital Presence & Financial Soundness and 87.3 on Product, Innovation & Delivery. google.com is the most visited website in the world, and Gemini became the clearest proof that the brand can carry a new product category: the Gemini app grew from 750 million monthly users in February 2026 to 950 million by the second quarter. Alphabet backs that with money. Revenue passed US$400bn for the first time in 2025, operating income reached US$129bn, and Google Cloud revenue rose 82% year on year in the second quarter of 2026.
The weak spot is governance. Sustainability, Governance & ESG is Google's lowest pillar at 67.3. It lost the US search monopoly case, and the remedies ordered in September 2025 ban exclusive default deals and force data sharing with rivals. Its own 2026 Environmental Report showed emissions up 18% in 2025 as AI data centres drew more power. Trust has held up regardless: Consumer Trust & Sentiment scores 84.0, and customers keep choosing Google first.
Why Google ranks #3
Google's strongest results all come from operating at internet scale: it delivers its services digitally to billions of people, owns the busiest site on the web and puts new technology such as Gemini in front of users at once.
3.08Technology & Digitalisation of Delivery99
Technology & Digitalisation of Delivery: every core Google product is delivered digitally, from Search to Gemini, through a global data-centre network that served 950 million monthly Gemini users by mid-2026.
5.02Website Authority & Digital UX99
Website Authority & Digital UX: google.com is the most visited website in the world, and its plain, fast search page is the front door to the web for billions of people.
5.06Digital Innovation & Technology Adoption99
Digital Innovation & Technology Adoption: Gemini 3 launched in December 2025, and Alphabet spent US$132bn on capital expenditure over the twelve months to mid-2026, much of it on AI infrastructure.
The Achilles' heel
4.08ESG Ratings & Regulatory Compliance45
ESG Ratings & Regulatory Compliance scores 45, Google's lowest parameter. A US federal court found that Google held an illegal search monopoly, and the September 2025 remedies bar exclusive Search, Chrome and Gemini contracts and require search data to be shared with rivals. UK regulators added controls on AI search snippets in June 2026.
What would move it: Complying visibly with the remedies, opening its platforms further to rivals and publishers, and reversing the rise in emissions would lift this parameter and Google's whole governance pillar.
The 2026 story
Artificial intelligence defined Google's 2026. Gemini 3, launched in December 2025, pushed the Gemini app from 750 million monthly users in February to 950 million by the second quarter. To pay for the computing power behind it, Alphabet raised US$49.6bn in new equity in June 2026.
The results followed. Alphabet's revenue passed US$400bn for the first time in 2025, at US$402.8bn, and second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 24% to US$119.8bn. Google Cloud grew 82% to US$24.8bn in the quarter, and Alphabet's market value stood at about US$4.1tn in October 2026.
The risks are regulatory and environmental. Google is living under the US search remedies ordered in September 2025, faces new AI-snippet rules in the UK, and reported an 18% rise in emissions for 2025 as AI power demand grew. None of it has dented demand so far.

WCRC analysis
Alphabet's revenue grew from US$257.6bn in 2021 to US$402.8bn in 2025, an increase of 56%. Growth slowed to under 10% in 2022 and 2023 as advertising cooled, then accelerated to 14% in 2024 and 15% in 2025. Operating income dipped in 2022 but rose 64% from 2021 to US$129.0bn.
The margin story matters most. Operating margin fell from 31% in 2021 to 26% in 2022, then recovered to 32% by 2025, even as AI spending soared. That recovery shows the Google brand can fund a new technology cycle out of its existing business, a mark of real power.
