World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026 · Second Global Mega Edition
#63 Adobe
Adobe is ranked #63 in the WCRC World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026, with a WCRC Power Score of 75.00. Photoshop became a verb and PDF a global standard, and Adobe pairs that recall with sound finances, though complaints about its subscription practices hold its trust scores back.
Five WCRC pillars, 50 parameters, each scored 0 to 100 against global sector peers. The pillar weights set how much each one counts toward the Power Score.

What makes Adobe powerful
Few brands have turned a product name into an everyday word. People 'photoshop' pictures and send PDFs without thinking of the company behind them, and that is the heart of Adobe's power. Top-of-Mind Awareness scores 89 in WCRC's results, and Brand Positioning & Recall is one of its two strongest pillars, at 81.5. Positioning Clarity & Coherence scores 88: for four decades Adobe has meant professional creative and document software, and Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and Acrobat remain the default tools of designers, photographers and offices worldwide.
Its other strong pillar is Digital Presence & Financial Soundness, at 81.6. Adobe sells almost entirely by subscription through the cloud, and Technology & Digitalisation of Delivery scores 90, its joint highest mark. In fiscal 2025, the year to 28 November 2025, revenue rose 11% to US$23.8bn, operating income was US$8.7bn, a 36.6% margin, and net income reached US$7.1bn. Financial Stability Indicator also scores 90, with ratings of A1 from Moody's and A+ from S&P. Product, Innovation & Delivery follows at 78.4: its Firefly generative AI models are built to be commercially safe, a partnership with Nvidia announced in March 2026 extends them, and it agreed to buy Semrush for US$1.9bn.
The weak point is trust. Consumer Trust & Sentiment is its lowest pillar at 69.0, and Service Recovery & Complaint Perception scores just 46 after US authorities sued Adobe in 2024 over hidden cancellation fees, a case settled in March 2026. Rivals such as Canva and new generative AI tools have also raised doubts about how long its lead lasts, and its market value has fallen to about US$105bn. Adobe's power rests on tools professionals cannot work without. Its challenge is to make customers feel they choose it, not that they are locked in.
Why Adobe ranks #63
Adobe's power rests on cloud delivery, financial strength and the kind of recall that turns product names into verbs. Its top three WCRC parameters score 90, 90 and 89.
3.08Technology & Digitalisation of Delivery90
Technology & Digitalisation of Delivery: Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud deliver Adobe's software and updates by subscription to users worldwide.
5.07Financial Stability Indicator90
Financial Stability Indicator: Adobe is rated A1 by Moody's and A+ by S&P, and earned net income of US$7.1bn on revenue of US$23.8bn in fiscal 2025.
1.03Top-of-Mind Awareness (TOMA)89
Top-of-Mind Awareness (TOMA): 'Photoshop' is used as a verb, and Acrobat's PDF is the standard format for documents, so Adobe is the first name in creative and document software.
The Achilles' heel
2.07Service Recovery & Complaint Perception46
Service Recovery & Complaint Perception scores 46, Adobe's lowest. In June 2024 the US FTC and Department of Justice sued Adobe over hidden early-cancellation fees and hard-to-cancel subscriptions. The case was settled in March 2026, but complaints about support and cancellation persist.
What would move it: Making cancellation as easy as sign-up, and showing it with clear terms and published support metrics, would rebuild goodwill among the creators who depend on Adobe.
The 2026 story
2026 marks the end of an era at the top. On 3 September Adobe named Anil Chakravarthy president and chief executive from 1 December 2026. Shantanu Narayen, chief executive for 18 years, becomes executive chair.
The business is still growing. Fiscal 2025 revenue rose 11% to US$23.8bn, with net income of US$7.1bn. In March 2026 Adobe announced a partnership with Nvidia on next-generation Firefly models and agentic workflows, and in November 2025 it agreed to buy Semrush for US$1.9bn to add search visibility tools.
The risks are trust and disruption. The FTC and Department of Justice case over cancellation fees was settled in March 2026, and investors worry that generative AI will lower the barriers that protect Adobe's software. Its market value stood at about US$105bn in October 2026. Steve Jobs once tried to buy Adobe for US$5m in 1982 and took a 19% stake instead.
