How the Power Score adds up
Each pillar's score multiplied by its WCRC weight. The segments sum to 74.28.
Schneider Electric's power is unlike any other brand in the ranking. On the pillars that depend on consumer fame, it sits near the bottom of the top 100: Brand Positioning & Recall is 71.4 and Consumer Trust & Sentiment 67.8. It is here because on Sustainability, Governance & ESG it scores 86.0, the best result of any brand in the edition and 8.8 points ahead of the next, L'Oréal Paris. Four of its parameters are the highest WCRC recorded in the top 100: ESG Ratings & Regulatory Compliance at 96, Environmental Impact & Decarbonisation at 94, Sustainability Communication Authenticity at 90 and Supply Chain Ethics & Responsible Sourcing at 88.
That record is not decoration. Schneider sells energy management and automation, so helping customers cut emissions is the product itself, summed up in its 'Life Is On' line. It reports sustainability progress every quarter alongside its financial results and runs its own Sustainability Research Institute, which lifts Content Quality & Thought Leadership to 80. Purpose Authenticity & Values Alignment scores 86: few companies can show such a close match between what they say and what they sell.
The second engine is AI. Data centres need power and cooling, and Schneider is building the equipment for them: in 2026 it launched a Motivair coolant distribution unit and software-defined medium-voltage switchgear for AI factories, and partnered with NVIDIA and HPE on physical AI for process industries. Future Readiness & Strategic Relevance scores 88. Revenue rose 5.2% to EUR40.2bn in 2025, 8.9% on an organic basis, at an adjusted EBITA margin of 18.7%. The gap is fame: Campaign Effectiveness & Recall scores 58, its lowest.
Why Schneider Electric ranks #82
Schneider Electric's power comes from the strongest sustainability and governance record in the WCRC top 100, matched by products that make electrification and AI data centres work. Sustainability, Governance & ESG, at 86.0, is its strongest pillar and the highest in the edition.
4.08ESG Ratings & Regulatory Compliance96
ESG Ratings & Regulatory Compliance: Schneider combines a clean regulatory record with quarterly sustainability reporting published alongside its financial results. Its 96 is the highest score on this parameter in the top 100.
4.01Environmental Impact & Decarbonisation94
Environmental Impact & Decarbonisation: decarbonisation is Schneider's business as well as its policy, from energy management software to efficient switchgear. Its 94 is the highest in the top 100.
4.02Sustainability Communication Authenticity90
Sustainability Communication Authenticity: Schneider's sustainability claims describe what it actually sells, energy management and automation that cut customers' emissions, under the 'Life Is On' line. Its 90 is the highest in the top 100.
The Achilles' heel
1.05Campaign Effectiveness & Recall58
Campaign Effectiveness & Recall scores 58, Schneider Electric's lowest. As a business-to-business company it runs little mass-market advertising, so outside the electrical and energy industries its name means far less than its scale and influence deserve.
What would move it: Using its consumer products, such as the smart thermostat developed with Apple, and its role in AI data centres to tell a simple public story would raise recall without diluting its business focus.
The 2026 story
Schneider Electric's 2025 results showed steady growth. Revenue rose 5.2% to EUR40.15bn, or 8.9% organically, adjusted EBITA reached EUR7.52bn and net income was EUR4.16bn. Moody's rates it A3 with a positive outlook and S&P rates it A, stable.
Its 2026 news was dominated by AI. In September it launched a Motivair coolant distribution unit and software-defined medium-voltage switchgear for AI factories. In October it announced a partnership with NVIDIA and HPE on physical AI for process industries, a prefabricated modular AI-factory reference design and, on the consumer side, a smart thermostat and Power Mount accessory with Apple.
The main risk is execution at the top. Chief executive Peter Herweck was removed after about 18 months and replaced by Olivier Blum in November 2024. Competitors are now crowding into the same data-centre market. A company that built France's first locomotive in 1838 has reinvented itself before; the AI boom is its latest test.
