#54 Siemens
Siemens is ranked #54 in the WCRC World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026, with a WCRC Power Score of 75.73, the highest of any engineering and infrastructure brand. Its strength lies in industrial AI and digital-twin technology, a record financial year and AA-range credit ratings.

How the Power Score adds up
Each pillar's score multiplied by its WCRC weight. The segments sum to 75.73.
Siemens is powerful because it has turned a 179-year engineering name into one of the clearest stories in industrial technology: software, automation and AI that let factories, grids, buildings and railways be designed and run as digital twins. Product, Innovation & Delivery is its strongest WCRC pillar at 80.2, with Future Readiness & Strategic Relevance and Innovation Pipeline & R&D Orientation both at 88. The Xcelerator platform and a run of software acquisitions, including Altair, Dotmatics and, in January 2026, ASTER Technologies, give the brand substance behind the narrative.
Financial strength makes that story credible. In the year to September 2025 Siemens reported revenue of EUR 78.9bn, record net income of EUR 10.4bn, up 16%, and record free cash flow of EUR 10.8bn. Orders rose 5% to EUR 88.4bn, a book-to-bill ratio of 1.12. Moody's rates Siemens Aa3 and S&P AA-, and Financial Stability Indicator scores 90. Sentiment Trajectory scores 86, reflecting how strongly opinion of the brand has improved as industrial AI moved to the centre of its message.
Siemens also scores 71.0 on Sustainability, Governance & ESG, 16th highest in this edition. Its governance was rebuilt after the bribery scandals of 2005 to 2014, and no major penalties were found for 2024-26. The brand's limits are consumer-facing. It is a business-to-business name with little emotional affinity among the general public, and campaign evidence is thin, which keeps Positioning & Recall at 76.6, well below the consumer leaders.
Why Siemens ranks #54
Siemens's power in 2026 comes from three connected strengths: improving sentiment, a strategy pointed squarely at industrial AI, and one of the strongest balance sheets in industry.
2.09Sentiment Trajectory (12-Month Trend)86
Sentiment Trajectory (12-Month Trend): opinion of Siemens has improved strongly as industrial AI and digital twins became its core message, backed by record net income of EUR 10.4bn in fiscal 2025.
3.10Future Readiness & Strategic Relevance88
Future Readiness & Strategic Relevance: Siemens is refocusing on industry, infrastructure, mobility and software, adding Altair, Dotmatics and ASTER while planning to deconsolidate Siemens Healthineers.
5.07Financial Stability Indicator90
Financial Stability Indicator: Moody's rates Siemens Aa3 and S&P AA-, and the company generated record free cash flow of EUR 10.8bn in fiscal 2025.
The Achilles' heel
1.05Campaign Effectiveness & Recall62
Campaign Effectiveness & Recall scores 62, Siemens's weakest brand parameter. Its communication is aimed at engineers and executives, and there is little evidence of campaigns that the wider public remembers.
What would move it: A sustained, measurable brand campaign showing how Siemens technology shapes everyday life, from trains to power grids, would lift recall beyond its business audience.
The 2026 story
Siemens closed fiscal 2025 with records. Net income rose 16% to EUR 10.4bn, free cash flow reached EUR 10.8bn and orders grew 5% to EUR 88.4bn. The board proposed a higher dividend of EUR 5.35 per share and guided to comparable revenue growth of 6% to 8% for fiscal 2026.
The portfolio kept changing. In November 2025 Siemens decided to deconsolidate Siemens Healthineers by spinning off about 30% of its shares directly to Siemens shareholders. In January 2026 it bought ASTER Technologies, a French electronics test software firm, adding to the Altair and Dotmatics deals.
The main risk is execution. Separating Healthineers, integrating large software acquisitions and absorbing negative currency effects all fall in the same period. Siemens has faced no major controversy in 2024-26, so delivery on its industrial AI promise is what will shape the brand next.
Five-year comparison
Official figures as reported, EUR m. Siemens AG consolidated revenue, fiscal years ending 30 September, as stated (to EUR 0.1bn) in Siemens' annual results releases. FY2023 is the restated figure from the FY2024 release (Innomotics presented as discontinued); FY2021 and FY2022 are as originally reported and still include Innomotics. Siemens does not report a group operating income line, so operating_income is null; Industrial Business profit was EUR 11.4bn (FY2024) and EUR 11.8bn (FY2025).

WCRC analysis
Revenue rose from EUR 62.3bn in fiscal 2021 to EUR 78.9bn in fiscal 2025, about 27% over the period. The jump came in fiscal 2022, when revenue grew 16%; since then growth has been steady at 1% to 4% a year on the reported figures, while Siemens sold Innomotics and bought software companies.
The table shows a company reshaping rather than simply growing. Revenue gains have been modest, but net income reached a record EUR 10.4bn in fiscal 2025, and the shift toward software and automation explains why the brand gained power without dramatic sales growth.
