#5 Nvidia
Nvidia is ranked #5 in the WCRC World's Most Powerful 100 Brands 2026, with a WCRC Power Score of 82.99. It has become the name most closely tied to artificial intelligence, and it pairs that cultural weight with the strongest financial position WCRC measured in 2026: US$215.9bn of revenue and a 60% operating margin.
Five WCRC pillars, 50 parameters, each scored 0 to 100 against global sector peers. The pillar weights set how much each one counts toward the Power Score.

How the Power Score adds up
Each pillar's score multiplied by its WCRC weight. The segments sum to 82.99.
Nvidia is the rare business-to-business brand that ordinary people now know by name. Its strongest WCRC pillar is Brand Positioning & Recall, at 89.4, and the reason is simple: Nvidia has become shorthand for the AI era. Cultural & Contextual Relevance scores 97, Brand Differentiation Index 96 and Positioning Clarity & Coherence 95. The company presents itself as the full-stack platform for accelerated computing, from GPUs and networking to complete systems and the CUDA software that millions of developers write for. That software layer is what rivals find hardest to copy, because switching away means rewriting code.
The second engine is money. Digital Presence & Financial Soundness scores 86.6, and Competitive Financial Position, at 99, is Nvidia's single highest parameter. In fiscal 2026, the year to 25 January 2026, revenue rose 65% to US$215.9bn and net income reached US$120.1bn. Data centre sales alone were US$193.7bn. The first quarter of fiscal 2027 set another record at US$81.6bn. S&P raised Nvidia to AA in June 2026, and in October 2025 it became the first company ever worth US$5 trillion.
Product, Innovation & Delivery follows at 84.5, built on a yearly cadence of new GPU architectures (Innovation Pipeline & R&D Orientation scores 97) and US$43bn of stakes in startups, plus deals with Intel, Groq and Nebius. The gap is sustainability. Sustainability, Governance & ESG is its weakest pillar at 67.1: value-chain emissions have nearly tripled since fiscal 2024 as AI demand surged, and export controls on China remain a constant risk. Nvidia's power rests on owning the platform the AI economy is built on. Its test is to grow that platform without its footprint and politics catching up.
Why Nvidia ranks #5
Nvidia's brand power is grounded in the strongest finances WCRC measured in 2026 and in technology that sets the pace for the whole industry. Digital Presence & Financial Soundness, at 86.6, is its second-strongest pillar after Brand Positioning & Recall.
5.09Competitive Financial Position99
Competitive Financial Position: revenue rose 65% to US$215.9bn in fiscal 2026 with a 60.4% operating margin, and the first quarter of fiscal 2027 brought a record US$81.6bn.
5.07Financial Stability Indicator98
Financial Stability Indicator: S&P upgraded Nvidia to AA with a stable outlook in June 2026, backed by net income of US$120.1bn in fiscal 2026.
5.06Digital Innovation & Technology Adoption98
Digital Innovation & Technology Adoption: Nvidia defines the frontier in AI accelerators, and its CUDA software, DGX Cloud and Omniverse platforms set the tools much of the industry builds on.
The Achilles' heel
4.01Environmental Impact & Decarbonisation55
Environmental Impact & Decarbonisation scores 55, Nvidia's lowest. It publishes an assured sustainability report and reports on renewable electricity, but its value-chain (Scope 3) emissions nearly tripled between fiscal 2024 and fiscal 2026 as demand for its chips exploded.
What would move it: Setting firm Scope 3 targets with its manufacturing partners and reporting the energy efficiency gains of each GPU generation against total emissions would give its sustainability story real weight.
The 2026 story
Nvidia entered 2026 as the most valuable company in the world. It became the first company to reach a US$5 trillion market value on 29 October 2025 and was worth about US$5.34 trillion in May 2026. Fiscal 2026 revenue reached US$215.9bn, up 65%, and the quarter to 26 April 2026 set a new record of US$81.6bn, with data centre sales of US$75.2bn.
The company used its cash to widen its reach. It took a US$5bn stake in Intel in September 2025, struck a US$20bn asset deal with Groq in December 2025 and invested US$2bn in Nebius in March 2026. It disclosed US$43bn of holdings in startups. S&P raised its credit rating to AA in June 2026, and Jensen Huang received the IEEE Medal of Honor.
The risks are political and environmental. US export rules hit sales of its H20 chip, Nvidia agreed to pay 15% of certain China chip revenue for export licences, and China told companies not to buy the RTX Pro 6000D. Its value-chain emissions have nearly tripled in two years. So far none of this has slowed demand.
